Hidden from mainstream interstates and traffic, Running Mare Farm is the picturesque backdrop for a dreamy wildflower-themed wedding unfolded on a serene horse farm. This romantic setting, with its rustic charm and natural beauty, made for an unforgettable day of celebration that melded a familiar connection of home for the bride and a new path for the couple. Here is how we brought the couple’s vision to life.
The bride told us that she loved fresh flowers and wanted a wildflower theme. She wanted pops of blue, pink, yellow, and peach. She had no specific flower requests, but did provide us with some inspirational photos.
We took it from there. We made wildflowers the centerpiece of the wedding design, adding a fresh, carefree vibe to the celebration. The bride’s bouquet was a burst of colorful blooms—peach gerbera daisies, feverfew, orange snapdragons, white daisy mums, yellow daisy buttons, lavender, earth-tone mini carnations, and blue tweedia—giving it a natural, just-harvested wildflower look.
Bridesmaids carried smaller versions of the bouquet with a more rounded, yet organic shape. The groom had a boutonniere with a mini peach gerbera daisy and a white daisy, while the groomsmen had white daisies, lavender, and greenery. Corsages were made with sheer ivory ribbon, a mini peach gerbera daisy, and earth-tone mini carnations.
The ceremony took place at the church. The reception was held in a repurposed barn. To keep with the rustic farm vibe, mason jars, and milk bottles were used as vases for the centerpieces. A raised log charger was at the center of each table. We placed a mason jar arrangement, a bud vase, and a single flower vase on each charger.
We also suggested that the bouquets be repurposed for the reception after the ceremony. At the head table, we used milk bottles to provide vases of water for the bouquets. The bridal bouquet had a larger vase. Three larger arrangements were placed on the entrance table, dessert table, and candy table.
A wildflower-themed wedding on a horse farm is the perfect blend of rustic charm, natural beauty, and breath of nature. From the colorful bouquets, the scenery, and the presence of family, every aspect of this wedding honored the couple’s love for nature and each other.
