Christy's Cottage  is a Boutique Florist in Mechanicsville, Virginia specializing in weddings and funerals. I Offer Fresh Floral, Custom Silk, and Silk Floral Rentals for the Best of Times and the Worse of Times.

Fresh florals are always beautiful, but sometimes they are not in season. My botanically correct silk flowers offer a year-round solution to the changing seasons of fresh floral. You have options to choose which one you would like. 

The perfect beauty of your flowers should bring people to tears, but our service will leave you with a smile. I design the florals. My husband helps me set up and take down. We are your team.

  • Do you ship flowers?
    We may consider shipping flowers for purchase. We will not ship rentals.
  • Do you have a storefront?
    We do have a physical location but operate by appointment only.
  • Where are you located?
    Mechanicsville, Virginia
  • Will you do weddings outside of Richmond?
    Yes. We will travel anywhere in the state. At Christy’s Cottage, we are thrilled to offer our floral design services for weddings outside of Richmond. We understand that the location of your special day is important to you, and we are more than happy to travel to ensure that your wedding day is exactly as you envision. However, there is a $500 travel fee for locations more than 50 miles from the 23111 zip code
  • How does floral rental work?
    For rentals, there are several collections to choose from. You choose the collection you want. After the contract is signed and the deposit is placed, you secure the collection and date for your event. You pay the remaining 50% 4 weeks before the event.
  • Do you offer custom arrangements?
    Yes. Custom arrangements require purchase and are not available for rental though.
  • Do the centerpieces come with a vase?
    The vase will be included in the total price of the centerpiece for rentals and purchases.
  • Can I purchase my bridal bouquet?
    Both the bridal bouquet and groom’s boutonnière can be purchased for an additional $150 over the rental price.
  • What is the quality of the silk flowers?
    These are the finest silk flowers we have ever seen. If you find a higher quality, please let us know where we can also find them.
  • Can I rent a bridal bouquet for my bridal portraits?
    If you are renting or purchasing all of your wedding flowers from Christy’s Cottage, you may rent a bouquet for the bridal portraits. If you just want a bridal bouquet for portraits, full purchase is required.
  • Do you offer a toss bouquet?
    Yes, for a small fee. The toss bouquet is not a rental item.
  • Do you offer cake flowers?
    Yes, but it is not a rental item and requires purchase
  • What if I want more than I see in a collection? Like, a different swag or more flowers? Can you make it and can I still rent it?
    Yes. As long as the flowers are not different from the collection, we will make the additional piece. Price point will still be within rental range, but determined at the time of consultation. Full frontal arches are not rentable from Christy's Cottage. They take a very long time to do and require a massive amount of flowers. Full frontal florals for any arch require purchase.
  • Why do I need a consultation before I rent?
    Planning an event, especially a wedding, can be overwhelming. Many times, couples do not realize what they might actually need or want until someone sits down and plans it out. We will help you determine what you need, what you want, and help you figure out what fits in between as well.
  • Do they look real in person?
  • Can I choose pieces from different collections?
    No. The collections are made to coordinate within the collection. We will not mix and match collections.
  • How do I order?
    You must schedule a personal consultation. Once we have gone over what you need and want, then you will receive an invoice. We require a 50% NON-REFUNDABLE deposit in order to reserve flowers for your date. The remaining 50% is due 4 weeks prior to the event.
  • How many people can I bring to my consultation?
    The least amount possible. We recommend only the engaged couple, and the person or persons directly paying for the flowers.
  • When is the deadline to make an order?
    No later than two months before your event.
  • How do I edit my order?
    Any changes to your order may be made up to two months prior to the event, provided no one else has rented the collection you would like. If your new selection has already been rented, then you may purchase a custom selection.
  • If we purchase silk flowers for our event, will you still set them up and take them down?
    There is a fee for set-up and delivery regardless of whether you purchase or rent. For rentals, you have the option to return rental items within 2 days of your event or to pay an additional fee for us to come back out and pick up the rental items. For purchases, once the items are delivered and set up, they are under your ownership. You are responsible for the take-down of the flowers.
  • When is my remaining balance due?
    4 weeks before the event.
  • What is your wedding order cancellation policy?
    The initial 50% deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE. If you cancel after that, and before the event, then you keep what you have not paid.
  • What is your purchased goods cancellation policy?
    Your initial deposit is a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit. I begin work on your flowers as soon as the deposit is placed.
  • Can I change the date of my wedding or my rental collection once we book?
    Once a venue is booked with a date, the date is rarely changed. However, if you need to change the date, if another couple has not reserved a collection on the same date, rentals may be rescheduled ONCE. After rescheduling once, we may decline the second reschedule and cancel the order without refund.
  • What if I don't return a rental product?
    We will charge the credit card on file with the replacement cost of the flowers. This cost is roughly three times the rental cost. For example, if your guest takes or destroys a centerpiece that is $35, then you would be charged $105.
  • I could not make my consultation. Can I reschedule?
    I recommend you keep your consultation appointment. I am a one-woman business. My clients are very important to me. I will be respectful of my clients' time and I expect them to be respectful of mine. If you cancel your appointment, you should have a very good reason for canceling. I will only allow you to reschedule ONCE. If you cancel twice, we are probably not a good fit as florist and client.
